HOW TO UNINSTALL WINDOWS 98
This procedure will allow you to return to your previous version of Windows. This can only be performed if the following conditions are met:


Conditions:
Windows 98 CAN be uninstalled if...

1) you upgraded from a previous version of Windows
2) you chose the "save uninstall information" option during Windows 98 setup (this creates the Winundo.dat and Winundo.ini files that contain uninstall info).

Windows 98 CANNOT be uninstalled if...
1) the above conditions are not met
2) the two files Winundo.dat and Winundo.ini were deleted or are corrupted
3) your hard disk was compressed or converted to FAT32 after installing Win 98 (You
can still uninstall Windows 98 if you converted to FAT32 within Windows 95 OSR2.)
4) your hard disk was compressed before installing Windows 98

BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Note that any applications installed AFTER you installed Windows 98 may not run correctly after uninstalling Windows 98

TO UNINSTALL WINDOWS 98:

1) Click START, then SETTINGS, then CONTROL PANEL. Double-click ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS

2) Click "Uninstall Windows 98". Click "Add/Remove". When prompted, click "Yes".

3) Scandisk will check your disk for errors. Allow it to do so by clicking "Yes" when prompted

4) When prompted to continue with the uninstall, answer Yes and follow the instuctions to uninstall Windows 98

IF WINDOWS 98 DOES NOT LOAD CORRECTLY AFTER INSTALLATION, YOU CAN RUN THE UNINSTALL UTILITY IN DOS MODE

TO DO SO:

1) Restart the computer and boot from a Windows 98 startup diskette or select "Command Prompt Only" from the boot menu

2) Change to the \WINDOWS\COMMAND directory and execute Uninstal.exe from a command prompt.

BIG NOTE: Do not run uninstal.exe if you have converted to FAT32. This will destroy the contents of your hard drive
